It’s official, South Africa is the highest mobile application user of Africa in 2016. Followed by Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda, the African mobile market is paving its way towards huge opportunities. Various factors have contributed to the growth of mobile applications: low mobile data usage costs, high demands of smartphones or application serviceability. All of them represents good news for business developments in Africa.
A survey made by the Internet operator, Opera revealed in their report, “State of the Mobile Web Africa 2016” that a third of South Africans were using mobile applications followed by Ghanaians 31%, Nigerians 28%, Nigerians 19% and Ugandans 18%. They represent promising markets for the Sub-Saharan market particularly; as well as for the development of logistics.
A windfall for businesses
African businesses today are investing in mobile applications for a more responsible and mobile friendly website to broaden target audiences. Improving the marketing strategies remain the major aims which is why the mobile industry represents an opportunity for businesses and well-known brands to provide opportunities of employment, development and effectiveness in the African countries. 2017 looks bright for the African mobile industry.
