Value-added tax (VAT)
The standard VAT rate is 18% in Gabon.
Goods including local mineral water, imported meat, sugar, and canned fruits/vegetables to name a few are subject to a reduced rate of 10%.
A 5% rate is applied to cement and qualifying exports declared to customs are zero-rated.
Paid Time-Off
Employees are generally entitled to 24 days of paid annual leave.
Sick Leave
In Gabon, workers are entitled to a maximum of 6 months of sick leave.
Maternity Leave
Women are entitled to up to 14 weeks of paid maternity leave – 6 of which must be taken prior to birth.

Men are entitled to 10 days of paid leave for family events – including childbirth.
