  • Value-added tax (VAT)

    The standard VAT rate is 15% in Seychelles – applied to the supply of goods and services both local and imported. Certain supplies are subject to a zero-rating.

Employees are generally entitled to 21 days of paid annual leave.

Sick Leave

In Seychelles, workers are entitled to 30 days of paid sick leave per year. In case of hospitalization, the duration can be extended to up to 60 days.

Maternity Leave

In Seychelles, women are entitled to a maximum of 14 weeks of paid maternity leave. An additional 12 weeks of unpaid maternity leave is available should the mother require it.

Paternity Leave

In Seychelles, men are entitled to 10 days of paid paternity leave.

  • When terminating an employee for just cause, the employer is required to provide the following notice periods:

    • For casual workers: 1 day
    • For workers on probation: 7 days
    • Any other category: 1 months’ notice

In Seychelles, an employee may be entitled to compensation depending on the method of termination.
