Opportunity International is a global non-profit that has been empowering people to work their way out of poverty for 52 years. Opportunity provides 18.7 million people with innovative financial resources, training, and support to grow their small businesses and send their children to school. Opportunity International released more than $2.6 billion in capital across 30 countries in 2022. In 2018, Opportunity International partnered with Africa HR Solutions.
As Opportunity International sought to expand their operations in Africa, they faced several key challenges. With their commitment to serving underprivileged communities, they needed a partner who could effectively navigate the complexities of establishing operations in multiple countries. They sought a PEO firm that understood their mission and could provide seamless onboarding processes, ensure compliance with local regulations, and deliver comprehensive employee benefits. Additionally, Opportunity International required a partner capable of scaling their operations efficiently to support their continued growth.
In response to Opportunity International’s needs, Africa HR Solutions provided a customized solution that aligned with their expansion goals and mission. Leveraging our expertise in Employer of Record (EOR) services, we became the reliable partner Opportunity International needed. We seamlessly managed the onboarding process across multiple African countries, ensuring compliance with local regulations and mitigating legal complexities. Our dedicated team worked closely with Opportunity International to tailor our services to their specific needs, allowing them to focus on their core activities.
Moreover, our expertise in navigating local regulations and compliance requirements ensured that Opportunity International remained in good standing across all their African operations. By handling critical responsibilities such as payroll management, tax compliance, and legal adherence, we allowed Opportunity International to concentrate on expanding their microfinance initiatives and making a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals in need. The streamlined and compliant operations provided by Africa HR Solutions enabled Opportunity International to fulfill their mission more effectively.
The partnership between Opportunity International and Africa HR Solutions yielded a significant impact. Through our collaborative efforts, Opportunity International successfully onboarded 39 employees across multiple African countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zambia. By entrusting us with the management of comprehensive employee benefits such as medical insurance, group personal accident coverage, Workmen’s Compensation, and pension plans, Opportunity International created a supportive work environment that enhanced employee satisfaction and well-being. This, in turn, empowered their workforce to be more dedicated and engaged in their mission to alleviate poverty through microfinance.
Opportunity International’s unwavering dedication to empowering small businesses and families in low-resource communities serves as a profound inspiration for Africa HR Solutions. The alignment of our shared values and mission not only strengthens the synergistic relationship we have nurtured with Opportunity International but also reflects our collective drive to promote transformative change and shape a brighter future for all.
By seamlessly managing the onboarding process, providing comprehensive employee benefits, and ensuring compliance with local regulations, we have empowered Opportunity International to focus on their core mission so they could, in turn, enable the less privileged to seize opportunities, overcome challenges, and improve their lives.
