Why we are giving free life insurance to our EOR clients

Life Insurance Unisure Africa HR Solutions

Yes, that’s right: we ARE offering FREE life insurance to our EOR clients.

And when we say free, we mean free: our clients do not have to contribute even one symbolic dollar to enjoy this benefit. Besides, there’s no limit to the number of employees this benefit covers – it extends to all eligible workers, across all the 45+ African countries we are active in.

When we say we are giving free life insurance to our EOR clients’ workers – there is no catch.

Our life insurance offering is underwritten by the Unisure Group, a renowned international provider of health and life insurance solutions. Their vision emphasizes the importance of strong company values in driving employee excellence and fostering a conducive business environment. This vision resonates closely with Africa HR Solutions’ mission to support our clients and their workforce across Africa.

But why make such an offering in the first place?

1. To fulfil our promise to our clients

At Africa HR Solutions, our promise to our clients is this: to offer excellent services, and to keep on improving on them so they remain excellent throughout the years, even as technology evolves and the market changes.

So, this offer was really part of a more profound motive – it is a renewal of our commitment to our clients, and an effort to better understand their struggles.

Why free life insurance in Africa?

For a long time, we have asked ourselves this question: how can we best serve our clients beyond what we offer now?

What can we offer them that they don’t already have – and that will help them further their business interests in Africa?

How can we best show our support?

We understand that new challenges crop up every day, and that organizations – from Fortune 500 companies to SMEs and NGOs – all face uncertainty and volatility while operating on the African continent.

Because there is so much else that our clients do not hold sway over, we realized that reinforcing those factors and strengths that they do control could help make a difference.

A healthy workforce is one of those strengths. Once an employee feels secure and supported, their productivity will rise, and the company will grow with it. A benefit like life insurance can help employees feel reassured as they evolve within their workplaces, at the same time boosting loyalty to the company.

2. We understand the need for improved protection in Africa

Workers, especially those in manual labor roles, need the extra reassurance and protection that a life insurance can provide. When companies offer life insurance, workers feel cared for, and potential hires are incentivized to apply for positions at the company instead of rival organizations.

In fields like oil and gas, agriculture, and mining among others, the risk to workers is greater – which is why the protection deserves to be commensurate. In these cases, a life insurance cover is the appropriate benefit to reassure and encourage workers.

3. For your talents in Africa

For over 14 years, we have been operating in Africa, supporting NGOs and businesses enabling important development in Africa. Our contribution to the continent’s development came through our clients’ achievements and growth, but we also wanted to contribute more directly to the wellbeing of workers in Africa – which is why we are offering this free life insurance benefit as well.
